It was my Mum’s 70th Birthday this year, so I arranged a special trip for my Auntie, Mum and myself to go visit family in Poland.
We stayed in the Sea Towers apartments in Gdynia, overlooking the historic port and also visited Gdansk, Sopot and Starogard.
My family history is that my Grandpa was Polish. I’ve never visited any of this area of Poland before, so it was pretty amazing trip. Discoveries were made, such as the family business, that started in Russia, had been photography! A photographic family dating back almost 130 years.
For the past few years I have been photographing the BA and MA Degree Shows of Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon College of Arts. I’ve also taken photographs of the beautiful architecture and workshops spaces within the colleges.
These are a few artists that stood out for me from the shows this year.
Seems an apt time to post this as I walked to the gym in sunshine, and left to thunderstorms!
I was visiting family in Yorkshire a few weekends ago and I’d been going on to my boyfriend Sean, whose from Kent, about this ace place; Brimham Rocks, “we just have to go and climb them!” We had even seen the Dancing Bear Rock on a postcard when we went to the Noguchi Museum in New York!
The time had come, and we drove with my Mum and Step Dad from York, to visit this Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it pissed down! Bloody Yorkshire, still totally proud I grew up round there and love driving round that area. To top it off we had pints and roast beef baps dipped in gravy at the Royal Oak in Dacre.
Remembering my ace trip to New York, over New Year’s Eve 2015 with boyfriend and two mates. Such a fun trip! Empire State Building early starts, then Eisenberg’s for matzo ball soup and cheese melts, then Fish’s Eddy for homeware purchases. Central Park glorious views! Fun times wandering the high line, after staying at The Jane Hotel.
Beacon in Upstate NY was an absolute treat and a much needed break from the plethora of choices on offer in the Big Apple, the only restaurant open was the one in our hotel! We climbed Mount Beacon and had the best gallery experience at D.I.A Beacon.
